Who? The name The Saucy Cat is a play on words for my love of savory sauces + cheekiness + wine + my nickname =^.^=
What? These are meals that I frequently make and love. Each one has a stamp of approval from friends that have mercifully sat through many dinner parties of me sweating in my tiny kitchen while shouting orders for herb cutting assistance. They are made with ingredients I can easily buy in non-specialty grocery stores. I tend to buy organic produce and organic/free range/ethical meat in general (sidebar- reformed vegetarian here! Happy, well treated animals taste better than sad, mistreated ones- end sidebar). The fanciest tools I have are a mini food processor and a hand mixer. Ain’t nobody got time for blow torches and sous vide machines.
Why? I created this blog as a semi recipe repository slash sharing platform. Mostly, enough of my friends asked for recipes, so I decided to write them down. I aim to make simple food that is also gourmet. I know that may seem like an oxymoron, but I hope to show that busy people have time to cook a home cooked meal. Lazy people (guilty!) don’t have to slave over the stove for hours to make a delicious, full bodied dinner.
Hope you enjoy!
